Bushnell Scopes-A Good Reputation worth the Hype
For over 50 years Bushnell have been manufacturing and supplying the world market with high quality optical products including rifle scopes. Not only have Bushnell produced some great products they've also consistently received industry recognition in terms of design and performance. Bushnell achieves this by staying current with developing and emerging optical technologies - to constantly keep themselves one step ahead in the extremely competitive scope market.
When hunting small game at longer distances, an option worth considering is the Bushnell Elite 4200 offered by the Bushnell scopes line. This particular model is available with an adjustable objective in 6x24x40.
Of course, Bushnell has enjoyed a long reputation as producing quality products and that reputation continues with the Elite 4200. If you've been burned with more inferior scopes in the past, this is definitely one you can be assured will perform time and time again. The adjustable objective is incremented in yards and meters, which gives you the option to use it as a sort of rangefinder. When hunting small game, this can come in quite handy.
There is also an infinity setting which you can use to set the objective up above 300 yards; quite useful when searching for small targets a significant distance away. In addition, the Elite 4200 has been designed so that adjustments can be made without the need for any specialized tools. All you have to do is uncap the elevation knobs and windage, make whatever adjustments are necessary and you're ready to go. The scale ring is capable of being set at zero while you have the ability to set the 6x24 in 1/8" increments. The fact that they're capped when not in use provides additional reassurance of just how well made this scope really is. With a Multi-x reticle this scope provides images that are sharp and brightly lit, even when you're in bright sunlight.
Another option worth consideration is the Bushnell Elite 3200. This scope is available with a variable power of 3 to 10 with a 40mm lens. It includes all of the most popular Bushnell scopes features including Rainguard, a quick focus and adjustments that are repeatable. This scope is widely know as a compact scope and is available for around $200.
For those of you interested in the .22 lineup, there is also the .22 Rimfire Riflescope, also produced by Bushnell scopes. Two models are offered; a 4x32 mm with fixed power and a variable power model, available in 3-9x32mm. All of the optics on both models are fully coated and include fingertip adjustments for elevation and windage. Both of these come in on the low end of price range but offer good performance and vision for the pricetag. These two models are available for between $30 and $40, respectively. Not a bad price for scopes that deliver good optical quality along with waterproof and fogproof functionality.
