Smith and Wesson has a center where they've hired master gunsmiths to build handguns for the discerning market piece by piece. They combine old-world hand-craftsmanship with the most modern technological advances to create incredibly accurate, high performing guns designed for people who know their weapons. These handguns are limited edition and made to the highest possible standards.

Benefits of Ordering a Performance Center Firearm

A firearm from the Performance Center includes precision-adapted preferences of the shooter. The guns can be made for competitive shooters to match their capabilities and requirements. They are also great for gun collectors who want a unique, limited edition gun. The gunsmiths in the Performance Center conceptualize, engineer and hand-craft each product. Most of the gunsmiths they have employed have been working for Smith and Wesson, on average, for over 23 years! These are highly skilled craftsmen who know their equipment and their customers. Every member of the Performance Center team is involved in competitive shooting and is a highly skilled gunsmith.

Custom Features Available

There are many custom features available through the Performance Center. The semi-auto pistols offer such features as: hand lapped frame and slide rails, match grade barrels, polished feed ramps, precision crowned muzzles, hand cut chambers, hand cut transition angles, hand polished and stone internal actions, hand fit and lapped barrel bushings, and checkered front straps. For the Performance Center revolvers, customers can select custom two piece barrels (precision-made by Walther in Germany), forged hammers and triggers that are flashed chromed, world record holding 8 shot cylinders, performance tuned actions, recessed and crowned muzzles, tuned rates of twists for specific caliber and integral accessory rails.

In addition to all of these offerings, the Performance Center also offers a large line of after-market Custom Gunsmithing that is available for any Smith and Wesson firearm. The turnaround times are excellent and the prices are exceptionally fair. The custom work does not in any way void the warranty, and keeps you secure knowing that your Smith and Wesson gun will be cared for and kept under warranty, even with these changes.
